Journey through Western Australia’s wheatbelt to Hyden, home to the breathtaking Wave Rock, one of Australia’s most iconic natural landforms. Departing Perth, travel through the scenic Perth Hills before stopping for morning tea (own expense) in historic York, the first township in the Avon Valley.

Continue through the heart of the wheatbelt, passing rural towns like Corrigin and Kondinin, and see the Dog Cemetery, a tribute to beloved farm dogs. Arriving in Hyden, visit the fascinating Hippo’s Yawn, a rock formation resembling a yawning hippo. Enjoy an Aussie country-style lunch at the Wildflower Shop, where you can explore a Wildlife Park, view an Antique Lace Collection featuring lace from Lady Diana, or visit the Toy Soldier Museum.

Next, stand in awe before the prehistoric Wave Rock and discover its deep Aboriginal significance. Complete your journey with a visit to Mulka’s Cave, home to ancient rock art and Indigenous legends.

After a day of exploration, relax on the return journey to Perth, arriving at approximately 8:30 pm.
