Journey through the Swan Valley to New Norcia, home to Australia’s only Benedictine Abbey. This unique town, rich in Spanish heritage, history, art, and architecture, offers a fascinating glimpse into its past.

Discover the local history, explore the chapel and museum, and see rare artefacts gifted by Popes and Spanish Royalty. Take a guided tour of the Benedictine Community, including the museum and art gallery, which houses extraordinary relics from its time as an Aboriginal mission.

Visit the Abbey Church, home to one of only two large Moser organs from Germany, followed by a stop at St Gertrude’s College, a stunning Gothic-style former girls' boarding school from 1908. Before lunch, browse the produce shop, offering olive oil, fruit, wine, New Norcia nut cake, and freshly baked bread.

After a delicious meal, we continue to Nambung National Park for a leisurely walk through the mystical Pinnacles Desert, taking in its striking limestone formations. If time allows, visit the Pinnacles Desert Discovery Centre to learn more about the area’s unique geology and heritage.

We return to Perth via Indian Ocean Drive, arriving at approximately 7:30 pm.
