The House of Honey is one of our stops on our Swan Valley Half Day Tasting Tour and we wanted to share a little of what we have been learning about honey from these honey experts.
With the business centred around a passion for beekeeping, the beekeepers at House of Honey move their bees all over most of the South West of Western Australia to place our bees in the forests on where the trees are flowering.
The House of Honey proudly specialises in raw, pure, and unpasteurised honey. They harvest the honey, only when the bees have capped the cells, allowing the honey to mature and grow with flavour.
Grab your popsicle stick and let the taste sensation commence. Each honey variation is unique and you can really taste the difference between the different varieties. The honey is also seasonal so it’s worthwhile going back in a few months to see whats new.
At the House of Honeys, we recommend trying the local mead, an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water, and sometimes fruit. There are a few different varieties for you to try.
The House of Honey showcases all things honey from honey itself to fantastic products such as beeswax candles, beauty products and gifts.
You can also see a live bee display and listen to the friendly staff tell you about the world of bees. We suggest ending your visit with a snack at the Sticky Spoon Cafe – their scones are simply delish!
