Visit To Llawn at Mandoon Estate In The Swan Valley

A member of the Explore Tours Perth team recently headed to the Mandoon Estate with their family to check out Mandoon’s multi-million dollar makeover. They were not disappointed with what they found as you will find from reading their blog below.

Multi Million Dollar Upgrade

In September 2014 Mandoon Estate opened the doors to its brand new facilities including a cellar door, microbrewery, restaurant with a la carte fine dining and a function centre. Looking around the grounds it is clear that a lot of thought, effort and money have gone into the buildings which all look fantastic.

Something For Everyone

On this particular trip I visited with my young family so the Beer garden and playground were of more interest. However, Mandoon Estate’s a la carte restaurant and Homestead Brewery casual dining area both looked very nice and I hope to return at a later date to try them out.

Mandoon Estate’s outside area was heaving with people on the Saturday in December when I visited. Large groups of Adults enjoying the micro-brewed beer whilst listening to the acoustic guitar player in the sunshine mixed with families concentrated mainly around the securely fenced playground.

The food and drinks being served at the outside Bar and Deli were very good and despite the crowds, it was fairly easy to get served. The Deli serves up a variety of items including pizzas and platters, but the main event appeared to be the spit-roast which was serving delicious hot lamb rolls.

Whilst my other half was watching the kids play on the playground I snuck into the plush Cellar Door and was served Mandoon Estate’s wine for tasting by the Cellar Door manager, Jennifer, who seemed very knowledgeable and gave me a quick rundown of all the wines.

On the whole, we left feeling very impressed with Mandoon Estate and I would not be surprised if we head back sometime early in the new year.
