Getting to Know Chief Explorer Maz

Chief Explorer Maz has been working with Explore Tours Perth for the last 6 months and we thought it high time to find out a little more about her…
Maz believes in all things adventurous. You will find her out of her comfort zone exploring remote wilderness any time! She’s always up for a challenge and loves connecting with people and nature in its finest form: ocean kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, boating, skiing and diving.
Originally from the Netherlands Maz moved to Western Australia 15 years ago after traveling the globe on a shoestring and living in the Caribbean working as a news editor for a local television company. With a study background in educational media and cultural anthropology, she worked as an editor in Amsterdam, guided hiking tours in the French Pyrenees and followed courses in Adventure Tour Guiding.
With an unbeatable passion for traveling, she worked as a tour guide throughout Western Australia for more than 10 years, guiding tours between Perth and Broome, Karijini National Park and our stunning South West.
In 2016 Marielle became a Finalist in the category of Golden Tour Guide in the WA Tourism Awards. Join Marielle on her Explore Tours Perth tours and take home an unforgettable memory of true adventure whilst she looks after you with compassion.
